This land is just upstream from Paw Paw Lake. This farm has been plowed, sowed, and landscaped for the last 2 years. It is full of native plants and wildflowers that form a sanctuary for local wildlife. Our most recent development includes creating natural water filtration systems that create water before it enters our lake. This was done in collaboration with the USFWS and Trident Dock and Dredge.
The Biochar Initiative
What Is the Biochar Initiative?
After spending two years stopping major sources of pollution and farm runoff from entering the lake, our next phase is to begin removing the pollutants that have already infiltrated it.
This multi-year program is designed to improve water quality in all areas of Paw Paw Lake using an all natural, chemical-free carbon material: Biochar.
